Numbers and Counting in the ancient world
#1
Ave Civitas,

I once had a text that covered counting in the Roman world. I moved, I lost it.
I do not recall its actual title. I did a search in online booksellers for the title above but got no results.
Does anyone know the book I am asking about? I would like to get another copy.
Thanks,
Tom

Could have been Karl Menninger's seminal Zahlwort und Ziffer. Eine Kulturgeschichte der Zahl in English translation.
Stefan (Literary references to the discussed topics are always appreciated.)

Ave Guest,

No, I don't think that was it. Thanks though.

Could you mean "Numbering and Measuring in the Classical World" by W.F.Richardson? It is only 80 pages, but the author says in book on this would either be pretty short or extremely long, no. In between.
