After having quite carefully studied almost all works attributed to Plutarch, I am personally certain that this specific work is not only not written by Plutarch (and certainly was not one of Plutarch's young follies) but that it actually consists a hoax of someone who invented many of the accounts as well as most of the sources given, which are, as I understand them, fictional. I have decided to include this work in a project I am doing mostly for reasons of linguistic comparison but with a clear indication of its valueless character as a historical (or even mythical for that matter) source. However I want to be able to clearly support my point with modern sources also, so that I will not have to include my arguments too. So, does anyone know of a recent study on that work or even have a copy of J. Schlereth, De Plutarchii quae feruntur Parallela Minora (Freiburg, 1931), where the author actually tries to defend this specific text?
