From the Sculpture to the Poetry ...

Discovered in the territory of the Commune of Ciampino (Rome) the villa of Marcus Valerius Messalla Corvinus, consul and commander in the Battle of Actium, and famous patron of literature and art.

Seven - over 2 m high - sculptures represent the myth of Niobe and the Niobids (one of the most famous passage of the Ovid “Metamorphoses”) were found in a ‘space’ interpreted as a “natatio” (open-pool).
