Barry Molloy's groundbreaking research on Minoan martial culture gets some publicity!

Good for him, though I wonder if he actually said the thing about Crete as the origin of later European weaponry. I mean not only is that logically stupid, it contradicts his own article in AJA 2011...so...yeah. I guess its this sort of public speak I'll never get used to.

Incidentally, I like Molloy's work, I like that he's prepared to take a scientific approach to experimentation - even if I lament his use of J Clement's niche work and the, ahem, cutting techniques they used were so bad they made me weep slightly.

Its good to see him get some appreciation! his work has been massively helpful to a paper I've been writing for the past two years.

You'll be pleased to hear then that he is working on a new book which Pen & Sword will be publishing, hopefully in the summer of 2014. THe working title is Warriors of the Wooden Horse: Combat in the Aegena Bronze Age

If Barry is writing it then it should be pretty good. His research helped a lot when I was doing my Bronze Age book.
