Temple of Jupiter Stator discovered in Rome

The italian archaeologist Andrea Carandini claim to have found the temple of Jupiter Stator (8 century BC) at the foot of the Palatine Hill.

An interesting discovery!

Also this:

"In the article in Archeologia Viva, Carandini's team said they might also have discovered the ruins of the last Palatine house Julius Caesar lived in - the one he left on the Ides of March, 44BC, on his way to death in the Senate."

I wonder how they figured that one out? ;-)

Andrea Carandini, one of the greatest Italian archaeologist, has a tendency to identify the ruins with the annalistic tradition in mind.

Carandini has recently published the "Atlas of ancient Rome", with many maps and reconstructions. Highly recommended for all students of Roman archaeology and urban planning:
