Hi, often in battles in Ancient times, we hear of the use of musical instruments in battle either for morale building or signalling. Romans and Celts used horns etc, and Eastern Armies, Chinese, Central Asian and Persians used Kettledrums and horns. Are there any western sources in what instruments Sarmatians/Alans used when going into battle?
If the kettledrum was used in Persia and Central Asia wouldn't the Sarmatians have the same as Eastern ideas seemed to spread west?
