I immediately thought of this:

Lol, kind of contradictory. "This is a great photo of - is that a ditch? What the heck?"

Never knew there was so much interest in ditches.

I think the best thing that archaeologists could hope for would be some bits of pottery, for this tends to give better dating type of evidence.
It might be a good idea for them to do a few more cross sections on those ditches and even some wood might give some good dendro'.
