My Gallic F
#1
Salvete,

Some of you know that I am putting together a 43AD to end of 1st century AD Centurion uniform. Others of you have been helping me with this. I had an Imperial Gallic F helmet made by Jeffery Hildebrandt. Which I received today. It is truly a work of art. I am so pleased with it and would like to share it with you all. I would also like to recommend Jeffery Hildebrandt to anyone interested in having something like this made. Working with him is a pleasure. And his craftsmanship, historical knowledge and attention to detail are beyond measure. Hope you like it as much as I do...

Cheers,
Thomas

Now get an equivalent quality set of foot wear and build from the outside in!

Did you mention where you were getting a shield?

Mr. Balmos,

No. I didn't mention a shield, but I'm having Martin Moser make me a pair of Calceus (Mainz style).

Thank you, Jeffery and I spent a lot of time researching and discussing it to get it correct. And again, Jeffery did a fantastic job on it.

Is it silvered? The roped edging is a nice touch.
