libian legion pay role theft
#1
On an Italian newspaper today there is a very brief article concerning a find in Libia. Some 100 thousand coins (bronze with silver plating) were found in huge jars near the modern city of Misurata. They date around the end of the third century, early fourth. The guess of the article was that were a Legion salary. Anyone have an idea of why they would have been abandoned? Any news of a Libian Legion rebelling or being destoyed? Maybe some major theft?
I'll keep my hears posted for further news.
