digging assistance
#1
Ooops. Editors please feel free to move this to OFF TOPIC.

The new recruit Masavo (welcome!!!)
mentions that she was a volunteer for two summers at Vindolanda digs. Does she or anyone else know how to sign up for helping and how it works? Of course I could search on the web for info but what are friends for? Any special suggestions or comments? Has anyone else done something similar? I even thought of the Kalkriese digs but I don't know german. Pompei is around the corner for me but I am more fascinated by military stuff.

Edited by: goffredo at: 10/2/02 5:29:03 pm

you might look at www.vindolanda.com/
While I am a member of "Friends of Vindolanda" I have not got there to dig, although they found a coin and a pair of shoes while we were visiting in August. Check out the site for a recent update as well as information on being a volunteer "digger".
