The Year of Confusion
#1
I'm doing preliminary research on an upcoming SPQR mystery: SPQR XIII:THE YEAR OF CONFUSION. The year in question is 46 BC, the year that Roma changed from the ancient lunar calendar to Caesar's new Julian calendar, with much attendant fuss and fury. Does anyone know of some particularly good reference works for this year? I would be very grateful.

No, can't help with this specific issue, although I can recommend E. J. Bickerman's Chronology of the Ancient World (Thames and Hudson, rev ed 1980), which might be of some help.
Have you tried any of the recent Caesar biographies? Perhaps the one by Christian Meier?
