Aqueducts & Surveying Tools

I am a school administrator and  am looking to build replicas of Roman surveying equipment, specifically a groma and chorbates. Does anyone have plans they are willing to share? 

Also I am looking for a good resource on Roman Aqueducts, namely their construction and the physics of their design. Something suitable for High School. I am looking to do a class project!
