Hello from West Cornwall
#1
So!
I'm Cottia (yes, after that Cottia, the main squeeze in the book of The Eagle of the Ninth.... don't judge me, it was short notice!)

We've been flirting with Roman re-enactment for about 6 years now but the Small Boy is now old enough that we can travel a bit further afield so we're looking to start doing it properly. Not much going on in Cornwall so we are at the stage of scouting around, seeing which groups have got a goodly amount of events that we can actually get to, given the restrictions of term time and travelling.

Being civvie, my interests are cooking, growing things, and weaving on my lovely warp weighted loom. All of which travel well Tongue

Welcome Cottia. You were my fav character from that book and I was less than pleased that they deleted you from the movie!

I don't know of a group in Cornwall. There was the Isca Contaburnium in Exeter for a while, but I think they may have folded. However, the 2nd Augusta are based in Southampton and Portsmouth and have a very strong living history side, so you might be interested in having a look at them. Not quite your neck of the woods, but not that far away either.
