The colours used could be fairly close to the actual clothes themselves.The Romans had access to a much wider range of marbles than we have now,the quarries in North Africa and Greece apparently providing a good range.These quarries have now been worked out or lost.The shades may be slightly different but the colours I believe would be a good indication.A nuber of figurative mosaics are thought to have been copied from paintings and sculptures also.Lawrence <p></p><i></i>
