Is this a Roman apron terminal?

Hello guys 

Can anyone tell me something more about it and its possible age? The weigtht is 18 grams and 9 cm long.
I believe it to be a strap end of a military apron, cause it looks like the top part was rivited to a leather strap. Tried finding references online and in books but didn't find much.
Hope you all know something about it.
