Ancient Rome on the Silver Screen: Myth versus Reality
Anyone else have a copy of this book? I pre-ordered mine last year and picked it up today, as I'm interested in Graham Sumner's illustrations: some look like the ones in the Hollywood ancients articles in Ancient History and Ancient Warfare and others are repeated from prior works. To my disappointment, all the illustrations in the book are in black and white and not that sharp, in contrast with the text. If you look at the Kindle version, all the illustrations are in vibrant color. Did I end up with a defective copy or is there a difference between the US and European printings? I'm thinking of returning my copy for the electronic version.
