Late Roman Marching Camps
#1
I am wondering if anyone knows any details about the layouts of Roman army camps (temporary, with tents) in the late period (third century forward). How did they arrange their tents, where was the commander's tent located, did they still use the sharpened wooden stakes that the earlier soldiers carried to "hedge" the camp, etc. Questions like that. Can anyone help me with these questions? Thanks in advance for all of your help! Big Grin
P.S. any details of camp furniture like stools, chests, etc. would also be extremely helpful and much appreciated!
