Civilians at events
#1
I put this link in the Roman soldier section, but there are also a lot of photos of civilains, so thought it might be useful to put it here too:

The pictures(of Comitatus) were taken at Bolsover, UK, 30 April-2 May, and include various crafts and stalls, as well as photos of kit.

I love the straw hats!
That lady in the 'troublesome trio' picture, what period dress is she wearing?

Just seen your posting. I think she's wearing a dress based on one in a display at Arbeia Museum. Think I saw something like it in a publication, but can't lay my hands on it at present. Needless to say, she is portraying a lady of high status. The rest of us schlep around in tube dresses/peplos types.

I plan to dress my elder daughter (4 years old) as a well-to-do little lass for our Roman festival in September. In the meantime, here you have our two late Roman women inside the Centcelles dome during las TÃ rraco Viva...

It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.
