I´m not sure what you wanted to achieve, but let me tell you that there are a number of good groups displaying mostly Late La Téne celts (like Brigantia) in Europe. There are a few good groups displaying germanic warriors of the 1st ct AD. But in most cases any kind of showfight is not pssible at the moment, because our fellow roman groups are not very fond of that.
Last month we were at the biannual International Roman days at Kalkriese in Germany. We were able to display a rehearsed combat with a roman group, who had no problems using look-alike-pila and iaculi, spears with leather points and wooden gladii/spatha.
The show was planned for 30min with four scenes and we were able to tell ca. 5000 people how warefare between romans and germanics might have looked like.
