Late Roman event at Archeon/NL, July 27th/3th 2006

Quote:Darn! Missed you!

no you didn't, you waved at me at the beginning of the plumbata-throwing.. or were you trying to impress a woman with your new helmet?

Were you satisfied how everything was going? (except for that plumbata going into the audience...)

Did I? Really? Where were you seated? If you sat at the back of the field you may have caught me waving to my kids in the loge behind us...

Yes, generally satisfied. The plumbata broke apart in mid-air (yikes!! Confusedhock: ) because the Batavi had been practising with it and some darts had suffered more than I expected... It did not land in the audience, did it? The head flew right acros the field, while the shaft landed on top of Mark Schräder of I Minerva! Big Grin

at the start i was sitting on the right side of the emperor's box (big guy, with black t-shirt with Scotland on it).

Were you throwing at full strength because i had the feeling if you did, the plumbata would have gone of the field. (how many meters was that...50 or so?)

No I wasn't, but more out of fear that a plumbata could veer off to the left or the right. We cleared the playground after on Thursday one plumbata cleared the wall (just after we asked some kids to move)...[/quote]

How many assassinations attempts were made on poor Albinius' life during his short reign of one day? Three? Confusedhock:
