Nice helmet. It looks good to me. If it was mine, I would not add any brass. It's beautiful as it is.

I know this has just been debated and I am against the use of certain symbols which can cause offence, but denis's brooches look well made. You must be very commited to our hobby.

I`m with Paul here! I have never seen a helmet type like this reconstructed plainly from iron, it would look cool too  ...

Very nice work on the helmet. Did you do it yourself?

Denis,

I like your tunic. The clavi are separate pieces of wool sewn on, aren't they?

That makes me think about something:
we know that most of the clavi were woven into the fabric of the tunic during construction.
Did anyone try to paint the clavi pattern on the tunic instead of sewn-on patches of textile or embroidery and reconstruct the patterns that way ?

I think I can remember Aitor did something similar with his tunic decoration

No, its fabric decorations, embroidery from my design.
The woollen thread simulates weaving.

Thanks Jef! It is one of Jean-Olivier Bourbon's shields. With some help from Christian and photos of his shield, I started out basing the design on one of the Dura shields. I have since changed the umbo to one of the Deepeeka 'Axel Guttmann' repoussé ones which looks very good on this shield.
