Crests for the Corinthian
#1
Hi Guys

New question: I need to know what is the best way to fit a crestbox to an Italo-Corinthian Helm? The helmet is on the way but crestless and no fittings. Also is there anyone in UK that makes or supplies them? (Don't say Deepeeka - their crest looks wrong I think) What colours would be correct? Wooden box or metal box? more info, more info, more info please!!!!

Also can anybody explain more about the device worn around the ankle at the bottom of thr greave - true? false? Historically correct? Is it necessary for re enactment? Does it have the same purpose as the Roman Focale ie to stop chaffing?

Later

Greetings,
i hope to the end of this week or the beginning of the next week there will be the article how to build and set a crest on www.hetairoi.de also in english. I have the article already here (written from Thomas Daniels in Germany, member of the hetairoi ). Either you have to wait or i can send it per email to you if you want.

I dont know if its the best kind of, but it works.
