I recently got an email from the Ezboard staff regarding our current for-pay CSC Blue status, which limits advertising to banner ads for viewers. With Gold status, there is no advertising whatsoever. On a free (non-CSC) basis, there are banners and pop-ups.<br>

I'll include Ezboard's notice, so you can judge for yourself, but the bottom line is that I would like to upgrade us to Gold status once our Blue status expires (Blue will no longer be available as an option because it is not profitable for Ezboard).<br>

To help us get to Gold status, I'd like to remind everyone that if you like RAT and appreciate the services the board offers, you can support the community by making a small donation. My goal is to get to the minimum amount needed for Gold status.<br>

The time is quickly approaching for you and your users to renew your CSC<br>
status for your ezboard. It's been nearly six months since you purchased<br>
CSC for your community and we want to thank for your support during our<br>
first CSC period. ezboard might not be here if it wasn't for Admins like<br>
you believing in your communities as well as ezboard.<br>
<br>
We do have some bad news for you, though. As of August 31st we will no<br>
longer validate CSC Blue ezboards. The last day you can make a pending<br>
order to purchase CSC Blue will be August 15th. Current subscriptions for<br>
CSC Blue will receive the benefits until the expiration date listed in your<br>
control center. Here are our reasons for this change:<br>
<br>
·Banner advertising, which is the only additional source of support for<br>
Blue communities, has virtually disappeared. We are generating less than<br>
$0.02 per 1,000 page views from banners on the site.<br>
·Some of our largest ezboards - ones that use the most bandwidth - are<br>
Blue. This, coupled with the lack of advertising, means that the $15 for<br>
Blue does not cover the cost of the ezboard.<br>
·We've instituted new, lower rates for CSC Gold Community that can reduce<br>
the cost of larger communities by 20% or more.<br>
·With Community Chest we feel that we have given all ezboard communities a<br>
way to purchase Gold by accepting donations from their users.<br>

We realize that there are several users who sent in money for Blue for 12<br>
months. In light of these changes, later this month users who overpaid<br>
will receive a separate email regarding how to allocate these funds.<br>
<br>
There are now three programs available for converting to a CSC Gold<br>
Community:<br>
<br>
·Renew for an additional 6 months on a reduced rate from that initially<br>
offered for Gold -- $30 for the first 10,000 page views per month, plus $1<br>
for each 4,000 page views above 10,000 per month. Your renewal price will<br>
be shown on the Community Tab in your Control Center.<br>
·Renew for 12 months and receive 20% off the second six months - save 10%<br>
for the entire period and lock in your account at today's prices for a full<br>
year!<br>
·Renew for an additional 3 months at 60% of the 6-month price. If you and<br>
your users have trouble coming up with the full 6-month fee - you now have<br>
this new, easily attainable option.<br>

Don't forget that you can now use your Community Chest to collect the funds<br>
necessary to renew CSC. This feature takes the financial burden off of the<br>
Admin and lets users directly contribute to your community. For more<br>
