Warrior Poems
#61
Ballad of "Lube" a Russian music group
(Please forgive my wife's poor tranlsation)

1.
How many winters...
How many summers...
How much water flowed
How much life passed me by..
How much life abandoned me

I came back home
with my chest full of medals
with my hair gray
In faraway lands they turned so...

Chorus: 2 times
In the high grass I will proudly walk
and I will breath deeply
the open air of my field
whose taste I forgot

2
With eternal knot
I will tether my horse
I will tread barefoot
and MY land will caress my feet.

After few steps
my field will remember me!
Wellcome home it will tell me.
wellcome home my old man!

Chorus: 1 time

3.
You 're desolate and lonely
someone might tell,
Nothing gained nothing left
with faith and honor you served!

But wealthier than me
there´s no body else
from the time I steped in MY land
barefoot upon her!

Chorus: 1 time

I am sure that those forum members who "marched" understand it well.
Kind regards
