lorica hamata in the 2nd half of the 1st century AD
#1
Salvete,

What was the typical appearence of the lorica hamata worn by legionarries in the second half of the first century AD?

Did it have sleeves and if so how long? How wide should the shoulder doubling be?

How far should it hang down? Waist lenght? Or should it cover the crutch?

In addition to my other questions I would also like to ask if anyone has pictures or drawings of original buttons or discs that have to be rivetted to the doubling (the ones you use to connect the hooks to).

Is it correct that you should have 4 discs on the doubling (not counting the one that holds the hooks)? Do you use the upper or the lower discs to connect the hooks to? Where should they be positioned on the doubling?

Kind regards,
