As some of you know, I am putting online some hitherto unknown Babylonian chronicles from the Hellenistic Age (see [url:2lrumkez]http://www.livius.org/cg-cm/chronicles/chron00.html). There are more chronicles, however, and today, I put online the translation of an old and well-known text, the Nebuchadnezzar Chronicle, also known as Chronicle 5. It contains a description of the first capture of Jerusalem, in 597 BCE, and is not without interest. Here it is: [url:2lrumkez]http://www.livius.org/cg-cm/chronicles/abc5/jerusalem.html.
