How to take care of your gear

I'd do it myself if I could pull all the threads together, but has anyone thought of putting a thread together and making it a sticky entitled how to take care of your gear/kit?

We spend a lot of money and effort to make these awesome impressions, I think it would be helpful to pull all that data together to collectively help us all preserve them.

Mike, a few of us are in the process of lifting all of the "how to..." posts and useful tips for RA.com, here.

I've already come across a discussion on oils, etc, so that will be going there soon. We're starting at the beginning and slowly making our way to the present, so as time goes by you should see more at the link above.
