If I recall correctly, those who boarded the ships of Odysseus, did not return to their homes. Instead, they met cannibals, became addicted to drugs, and were the victims of Scylla and Charybdis. Nevertheless: here's a travel agency with the name Odysseus. [url:28j1bsdn]http://www.odysseus.com/
If you enter Mycene, there's a hotel "Clytaemnestra. Bed and Breakfast".
In Antwerp, there used to be a shoe shop called Oedipus ("swollen foot").
Anyone else?

Thanks; but that is not what I was looking. I'm looking for names that are clearly inapt. I should have added that Clytaemnestra Bed and Breakfast offers "rooms with bath".
Here's another one: the Jewish answer to the Olympic Games and Commonwealth Games is called the Maccabi Games. And how did the Maccabaean Revolt start? Exactly, because people were irritated by (a/o) Greek games.
There must be more mistakes, where people have chosen a classical but inapt name. E.g., Icarus Aerospace and the Tantalus restaurant (invented).

Yep, and noting that Herodotus never visited Babylon, I expect that Herodotus Travel will have to disappoint many travelers.
Joking apart now: knowing that pedantry and cultural illiteracy are universal, I expected more silly names.

There is a German software company that produces "NERO", which helps you to burn CD-ROMs. Slogan: "Nero burning Rom" ([url:2plsu7pi]http://www.edirectsoftware.com/nero.php). But this joke is intentional. I'm looking for the unintended, inept names. The list until now: - Odysseus travel
Oedipus shoes
Clytaemnestra Bed and Breakfast; Rooms with bath
The Maccabi Games
There must be more.

Arthes I thought Phaeton Aviation was rather amusing and inapt given what Phaeton did..... but how do you know if the names are unintentional or not.....?
Incidentially...look what I found....[url:1wh700y9]http://www.tantalusrestaurant.co.uk/

I tried to find Polyphemus glasses, but to no avail.
Cyclops glasses exited, but are off the market but for a single image:
There was a Cyclops night vision camera (I liked that because of the cyclops being blinded.
Cyclops safety Glasses still exist: http://www.cyclopswv.com/index.htm
There's also a Cyclops camera Head (??): http://www.videoglasses.com/cyclops.htm

We have a picture of the Clytemnestra 'Rooms with Bath' sign up in the department!
Of questionable pc-ness at first glance, a Dutch website packed with useful information for the disabled traveller, including hotel rooms:

Vulcan Engineering (and I mean Vulcan / Hephaestus, not Mr Spock!) - a small iron-works & engineering company where I lived in Clapham, London in the 1980s.
And a flippant Google search bought up Helen of Troy beauty and home products hock:
