One of the next days... I'm already wearing my Donald Duck Pyjamas, and I don't like these too obvious anachronisms:

Looks great!
So, your method: Fold in half, place midsection on left shoulder, gather around neck, pin on right shoulder, let excess fall? Is this correct?
Also, what are the dimensions?

Almost, i fold one of the long sides 1/3rd over, not in half.

Sorry....
165 by 240, excluding the fringes... (thought it was larger)

Interesting. Roughly 8' x 5.5'.
Versus the oval in RMC2 which is roughly 9.5' x 8' (or 9.5' x 4' when folded in half).

Ok, here's mine. I am a bit reticent to show it since I'm no where near finished. The tablion is only pinned on, and I don't have my crossbow fibula yet and the edges need to be whip stitched but it's here.
The tablion hangs exactly like it should and the hem doesn't drag in the dirt. I'm surprised it looks so straight along the bottom edge not being circular, but I think that's because the way it's fastened lifts the corners up. I even have that sharp horizontal fold across the upper chest just like the ravenna mosaics. The trick is to place the midpoint directly over your left shoulder and fasten it as close to your neck as possible.

The straight edge is 128" and it's just under 54" wide.
If you think of it as three equilateral triangles, or half a hexagon it works better. Each triangular edge is just under 64"
*update*
I should mention however that I am *ahem* ...short.
so you might want to make yours wider/longer

Actually, 10'8" seems quite large by comparison. But then this was meant to be an ankle length cloak.

Thanks Robert and Franklin!
I need two pieces of advice.
How do I handle the embroidery on the tablion (I have examples, what I don't know is how-to)
And does anyone have a good source on cross-bow fibula for a graduate student on a budget? - say $40 US or under (or simple instructions on how to make one perhaps?)
