Salve comites!

Another recruit reporting and massively impressed by this wonderful site. And there's me thinking that nobody else is that interested in all things Roman!

I a bloke from NW England and I too grew up within spitting distance of several Roman sites so the Roman world has always been part of my world. In fact, I regularly used to play in a field near my childhood home that was the site of a Roman watchtower, although all that remains now are some bumps in the field. Unfortunately, a WWII observation post was built on the site so any Roman remains would have been destroyed then. Fantastic views though and it must have been a great vantage point for the nearby fort/cavalry stable at Ribchester.

I've always been interested in all things Roman and was lucky enough to have Classical Studies on the curriculum at my school. I've visited a number of sites in England, Italy and Croatia but I still can't seem to get enough. However, my long-suffering other half does not appreciate these things as much.

Got to say this is a fantastic site and I'll definitely to making many visits.
