if was intended to at front be crossed to make a double protection, then you will neeed to add extra pteriges at the back to be even at front as the 2nd drawing below is marked in color.

Gioi, why? Does that assume the ancients were worried about everything looking symmetrical, neat and tidy? How many images of linothoraxes show the back of one so that we know the rear looked the same as the front?

I belive the link was very liberal interpetation.
It might be good for the theater or cinema but it doesn´t seem to fit with art or literary evidence.
Also the linothorax with the lace in the center is a liability and only to be worn only if there was nothing else available.

Jim, ancient Greeks were nuts about aesthetics and they could go a long way to achieve them.

Well Athanssios Porporis had a nice "subarmalis" under the "Philip" cuirass at Watford.
In my opinion he prsented a nice interpretation of a linen "subarmalis".

usually the pteruges are very anemic. By most counts, the images show at least two layers of pteruges with about 40-80 on the kilt and 30-60 on each shoulder.

This is the first I've seen that accurately replicates anything like that level of density.

No Comerus, Brussels 308, shows what looks like a linothorax that meets at the center on the front. I have come across none that join at the back.

Why call it a linothorax if it was made of leather? No there is no evidence that it was ever made from leather. Just unfounded speculation.

sorry i didn't make my self clear i meant the spolas/subarmalis the pteryges actually. the one you wear beneath metal armour were the flaps leather or linen? or just one of the two(with the leather having some metal reinforcement like plates).

Dear "Dan Howard", the "Linothorax" was - in the beggining - a cuirass of linen layers... But, as always, people finding many things to "upgrade" their weapons, so the "Linothorax" became ALSO (not ONLY!) from leather too...

BTW - my man, your Mycenaean ("Bronze's Age) "Dendron" full-armor, is BY FAR the best I EVER seen!!! The MOST impressive re-contruction I ever seen!!!
VERY WELL DONE! I'm very impressed! And the "Boar's Teeth" helmet, ROCKS!

Do you ALSO have done, a "Pyrgos" ("Wall") shield aswell and long spear, as the Achaeans used to have???
