It does not look like a "Romioi" era throne... :?

Vale,
TITVS/Daniele Sabatini

... Tu modo nascenti puero, quo ferrea primum
desinet ac toto surget Gens Aurea mundo,
casta faue Lucina; tuus iam regnat Apollo ...

It's definitely ottoman. Is a Turkish/Indian artifact: the throne of Mahmut IV(1696 - 1754) Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1730 to 1754. It was a gift of the Persian King Nadir Shah, on a green and red background, are emeralds and pearls. On the right, in a case, are pots and ivory mirrors. Across, in a large number of cases, are swords, rifles, prayer beads, spoons, all beautifully decorated. There is also a box in which the mantle of the Prophet Mohammed was once kept... Nothing you could use in your impressions..., but beautiful to see anyway Big Grin

Vale,
TITVS/Daniele Sabatini

I have seen that there are two types of thrones, one with a support for the back and other one that alone is the base of the chair with a cushion, that type of throne serious the most correct for the S. V?, there is distinction of thrones between emperors and empresses?

I think that Theodosius' throne should be your choice as it is the simplest, while totally accurate, to reconstruct
On the other hand, don't forget to put it on a dais. A simple folding stool becomes a throne if it is placed on a dais and even more if it is enclosed into a curtained ciborium. 8)

It\'s all an accident, an accident of hands. Mine, others, all without mind, from one extreme to another, but neither works nor will ever.
