Hope you like it !!
(The armour is an old theatre one from the 1800's which will be made into a Roman one one day...... if i can be bothered...)

Here some photos:

I have to say i'm completely satisfied with it. It cas a close fit, especially with my arming cap.
In no much time i should be getting also my illyrian from DSC,and hopefully with my sandals and sword.

note: The red stripe on the chiton in some of the pictures is photoshoped. I plan to add one that will look just like that, but haven't done it yet.[/size]

Hello,thanks for the comments guys.
Lessa, the helmet is made by 1,2 mm phosphor bronze plate, with some parts made from thicker plate, like the nasal, and i suspect a part of the decoration around the eyes. It is made in two halves, welded together in the middle. Otherwise the cost would be astronomical for me! I didn't weigh it but i calculate it around 1,2-1,3 kgr,a bit heavier than most late originals but not out of range of earlier originals and of other ancient helmets.

Nice helmet. But what was wrong with the other one you had?

Hehehe, this is what my parents wonder all the time
The first thing is that by the time i was given the old helmet,i had already ordered the new one.
I don't know to what extend you were joking, but the differences to me are fundamental to the overall look of the helmet. Stylistically,i don't find anything in this helmet that could not have been in an ancient one, which is not the case with the old helmet. This means that if i forget to clean in from rust i may find myself in trouble

Ok, I thought the old one was a manning too, and looked ok in the photos!
But, hey, if this one is more accurate, all the more reason to have another one, I say.
I've been toying with the idea of a manning for almost 7 years now....looks pretty good!

Europe, the UK and Yorkshire are in the grip of icey weather. So I took the opportunity to trek down to the local wood to show those softies over in Canada what Yorkshire snow looks like.

It is Yorkshire snow and therefore colder than other types. Fatal to Scotsman.
It is one of my bronze pilos helmets. I rather like them.
