Viladose 2006 anyone?
#1
I received a request from a UK television show who want to follow re-enactors going to the Viladose 2006 event.

Anyone who is going and interested to work with them, please send me a PM.

Never heard of it. Sounds like Airport, which has cameras following stressed out airport staff putting up with the likes of the general public and their often very odd ways.

OK, this thread seems to answer it: http://www.romanarmy.com/rat/viewtopic.php?t=10130
Easyjet is featuring it, hence the question from ITV.

Any group going there?

The "Mercato della Centuriazione di Villadose" is a sort of "private" event of the Legio I Italica that is based in fact in Villadose.

We partecipated for 4 years to that, but then we weren't invited anymore.
It is a small event from the military point of view because this town is small, so it cannot contain a field with many reenactors (60-70?), but the most curious thing is that the whole town change its face to a roman type, or, they try to do that somehow. All the citizens use to be dressed as romans and walk in a sort of big roman market with 30-40 manufacturers, tabernae, etc.

It is interesting, but normally few groups are accepted.
Last year were Legio I Italica (of course), Gruppo Storico Romano ( www.gsr-roma.com ) and Ars Dimicandi.
I don't know about any non-italian groups, but probably something from Hungary.

Is there on RAT some Legio I Italica members in order to give more details?
