A javelin is a serious weapon

Somehow, I think finding out if you have wounds is easier if you have a big javelin sticking out of you. Confusedhock:

Well, sometimes my freshmen make me wonder...

My friend - also a teacher - has a bumper sticker. There was a bumper sticker that said "I touch the future, I teach" which sounds kinda creepy all by itself. He got one that said "I fear the future, I teach."

Well, I was really comparing projectile wounds. Arrows are a little easier to spot than bullets too.

Sorry  not trying to be a smartass, it just comes naturally I guess.

i must disagree with not being able to fight, when i had my big toe severed i simply walked back inside dragging it by a flap of skin, and called a buddy, no big deal, i could have fought until i bled out.

also, dont forget many ancient soldiers would have been slightly drunk, and there are many documented cases of drunk soviets fighting with things literally blown off. also, in 1609 one of the jamestown colonists took 17 arrows and was still able to fight off the natives and run back into the compund.
