Ave Lucretius!
Again, as I have previously said in another thread, your artwork is superb! May I have your permission to print this picture and hang it on my wall?

Those are all incredable! May I put in a request for one please? I am very interested in the Hippika Gymnasia. I have absolutely no skill in drawing however so, if someone felt so inclined, could they by chance do one up?
welcome to RAT, I am deeply impressed, especially as You made pictures of a period that is not so well-documented as the centuries before.
Hi,
well its been a long time since I dropped in on the forum - gaming has been way down the list of priorities - but I got 'Rome: Total War' for Christmas, so I'm checking the R:TW Ezyboard forum for tips..... anyhow to get to the point, NICE SKETCHES..... I tried to do some Roman stuff for (a boardmember here I think...) chap who is writing a game, but I really struggled with it - I usually consider myself a pretty good artist but found it hard to visualise things - even with good resources, you still have to work from imagination a fair bit. You should send your drawings in to the gallery at drawsketch.about.com - its 'closed' at the moment but I know some Roman themed stuff will be welcome. You'll also get some tips on improving your drawings, if you want.
Building a 3D cgi Roman legionary. A long way to go, lots of bits missing and need replacing, but here's a work in progress:

Cheers Jasper. I've got RTW but not installed it yet. The plan is to gradually build up all different types of kit and equipment, so I can mix and match for larger scale scenes. Early Imperial first, then Republic. And that shield's definitely too big.

Edited by: Tarbicus at: 2/27/05 10:56 pm

that looks incredible good, You are really an artist! But the picture with the legionary always trying to keep his belt up (must be hard in battle) is a real photography, isn't it?
How are you getting on with your diorama?

I thought that, Jim. The diorama's progress is a bit slow at present. Because of the inscription I search for myself magnifying glass eyeglasses or an eyeglass magnifying glass (correct? - in German we say Lupenbrille or Brillenlupe) at Ebay.
Hi you guys! You have a very interesting forum here, I think I'll stick around &ltICON END I suppose I should introduce myself. My real name is Nemanja Simic, I'm from Serbia. I always liked the Romans and antiquity in general. I also draw, so here is my attempt at a legionary, done in watercolors. I'd appreciate any comments...
hmm... hope that works...

I really like the posted drawings - they show much perfectionism and knowledge about the time period. If any of you guys know any good links to actual armor information or other good roman illustrations, please tell me.[/img]
