Comerus,
in order to show your art, you should host it on a website (photobucket for example) after which you past the link in your post

Well I was going to put up the drawing I did, but now I'm feeling a little amature. I think I'll go try it again I've taken a few art classes since I first drew it. You guys are amazing!!! That CGI is spectacular!

Took my 3D model, painted it up, and beat him up.

Dude... You rock!
I just had an idea. Could you maybe do some renders of tombstones, to reconstruct possible color schemes?

Thanks, and yep
Looking for some relaxed stuff to do on something I'm really interested in, so let me know which ones you think are the most interesting. If you could point me in the direction of colour references to use I'll look them up. I know something about it, but it would be nice to get it spot on. Let me know what you think.
Cheers.

Greetings Tarbicus,
that is totally amazing, so lifelike.... the muddy shield and scarred hairy arms and that facial expression....which I am trying to work out...!
Fascinated....

Rock on Jim your CG Legionary is ace, but I like your natty "Tunica spoticus" can we have a spotty (tunic not in an adolescent way) CG legionary next
D
Seriously though could you do an auxiliary to support your legion? That would be way cool.

Thanks Arthes. I'm not sure what he's thinking either. Probably "I hope he don't put me in polka dot again!"

Cheers Tasciavanus, I was considering a cavalry type, or a later Augustan legionary (if only to work out the best way to do hamata). Another thing I'd like to do is a watchtower on Hadrian's Wall, moving on to recreating Housesteads. But that's a biggie and will need a lot of time. In the meantime I need to rig the current legionary for posing properly (and for animation), which is actually quite tricky for the seg. There are also technical issues for the fabric parts, as well as starting to learn a new sculpting 3d tool I have.
However, I really like Jasper's idea for recreating tombstones which I've been looking into on and off the past week. Strangely enough, Anderson's 'Roman Military Tombstones' arrived a few days later
Cheers.
