Oil lamps again
#1
The recent discussion about oil lamps got me thinking. I have two oil lamps which are supposedly Roman. And one of the things I find interesting about them is how light weight they are. And how fragile they feel. I weighed them at 60 gr for one and 65 gr for the other. Does anyone have any information on how heavy these generally were and how sturdy. The ones I have strike me as being highly disposable.

I have no idea whether these really are Roman or not, nor what period. I purchased them at an estate sale. The previous owner was unavailable, but his daughter said he had been in the US Foreign Service, stationed in North Africa, and thinks that is where he got them.
