red, white, who cares? What do the women like?

I was cruising legion websites, and I discoverd that Luca's Legio V ( www.romanhideout.com/Legiov/default.asp )has the definitive answer to why we all wear white tunics.
Don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but I believe the largest, best drilled and best equipped Roman group in Italy, wears RED tunics, just like the best groups in Britain and Germany.
ahem..show me the photos of the red dressed folks with the women!
And, following up on those curious hooks on the sides of that one segmentata that baffled Mike Bishop, they are not for suspenderii, but are actually quick release mechanism loops.
Richard Campbell, Legio XX
Yeah but Dan, where are all the hot ladies? The ancient legions measured success by their battle honours, perhaps the modern one could by the number of ladies we attract?

but...didn't you know it?
Women... adore red tunics!
This is (one of) the reasons we wear it. M
OK, seriously speaking, reasons are others, but it helps!
I think they don't look so much at the tunics color...
I can't post any images of the ladies that us gladiators attract but I think we need to go to Italy soon EM
And I was about to say those gladiatrix in their gear looked pretty nice too, but one has to be careful about whom one says such things...
Richard Campbell, Legio XX
