Valentine Armouries Lorica
#1
Hi Caius here I been looking at the Lorica Segmenta offered by Valentine Armouries. How the quality on the Lorica? IT does not quite fit my ideas of the Roman Seg armour. Is it useful for our hobby Cheers Thomas/Caius

It's been discussed before. It's not based on any archaeological finds, but on monumental sculpture (Trajan's, etc).

Depends on what your criteria are, but I'm sure most groups would reject it.

It's still an interesting curiosity though, and I was once tempted. A few years later now and I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Tarbicus,

I guess the argument is pretty much moot now though. In looking over their website, it seems that Valentine is closing shop in Canada and moving his workshop to the US to concentrate on making high-end custom armor only. BTW, They've got a lot of stuff on clearance sale now. Some of it is dreck but I just got some dagger parts for a pretty good price.
