Anyone else has rough numbers, let me know!

Temps here running 70-74 daytime, 45-55 at night, beautiful camping weather.

Everyone is invited of course! We have the gear, so bring your new recruits!

We are looking great for next week, evenings will be chilly in the
mid to upper 40's and possibly low 50's, so pack an extra blanket!

Michelle, if you have a newer menu, we can post it to the group.
Once again Michelle Stewart will be feeding us all roman style at the
Grand Feast Saturday night... a feast with a few surprises!!

We will need some new gladiators for the arena, with Marty racing and
Martin aging (JK) and Josh recovering, we will need some fighters, so
prepare to die for Roma!

Started prep loading today, and will finish it next wednesday (yes,
it takes a full week to load).

SOTW tent will be up and full of inventory for your perusal. Also
USBORNE Books for your edification, and James Mace will be signing
his tome. We may have a food vendor, sort of up in the air, but
Michelle will have her Italian sausage dogs too!

If you can come in wednesday night or thrusday morning, do it! We
can use all the help we can get during early setup. You are welsome
to bunk at the principia the extra night or two, even though Leg Vi
will be onsite. We will have food for thursday and friday folks who
help out!

The training post and pila range will be set up for the first time,
and the Custom Armorum will be in charge. Leg V, bring your practice
pila!!! May even grab a few surplus pumpkins for some fun.

We have TONS of tentage, so sleeping space will not be a problem. We
have added a few A frame Barbarian tents too, so even our
German "allies" will have wind resistaNT COVERAGE.

The arena will also have sand this year (thanks to Givhans for
building a volleyball arena in the middle of the big field!)

We do have showers onsite. We are not barbarians.

If you are coming in thursday, or wednesday, shoot me an email so we
can look for you!

Also if you would like to stay at the principia sunday evening and
travel home monday, let us know. we have several air mattresses free
so you can go home well rested. As always anyone who can help tear
down sunday will be adequately fed!!

If you have ANY questions, shoot them to us on the forum. Other
folks are wondering too!

So far the weather looks like 68-72 high, 45-55 low, 10% chance of
rain. Socks and braeccae will be acceptable.

That about covers the first set of questions, looking forward to
seeing all our friends again... We have several very important
announcements to make during feast, both Professionally.. and
Personal (Quintus will amaze you all).

Until them I remain yours in service to Rome,

Rusty

The gate code for the weekend is 1865.

Be sure to lock the gate when you enter or leave the park!

Come thru the gate and drive till the road ends, you will see us there! Look for Quintus' Torches!!!!

Castra Romana VI 2007 Is Over!!

With the final safe arrival notice from Caius, I can report to you all that the Legions, Barbarians, and their supporters have arrived at home safe and sound.

My heartfelt thanks to you all for attending and making Castra the Success that it is. I would especially like to salute those who came early for setup, Mike, Paul, Josh, Ellen, Chris, and those who were able to help take down (WOW!! We never had that much help before. Legio XI is truly the brother Legio to Leg VI!!). Edge and Robert, your assistance as Centurions made this a Castra I could enjoy!!

Michelle, your culinary talents amaze me every year! The Feast was simply awesome! Plenty to go around and a very satisfying Roman flair. Excellent Job!! We will start Castra planning for 2008 by asking: Can you feed us again??? Please!

It was great to see those who traveled so far too! James and Don of course (from Idaho), Caius from and the Ladies from Lafe, the Legatus Julius, Legion V, and of course, anyone I missed!

Every event we do seems like a big family reunion. As Mike observed, I am amazed at how diverse we all are, yet we still manage to come together, enjoy each others company, and “playâ€
