Caliga Leather

What thickness of leather did you guys make your caliga from?? I have found many articles and many answers, but would like to hear the opinion of some folks who have walked some miles in their shoes!

I've made mine with 3mm thick leather and they are very confortable.

I use 3-5 oz for the pattern part, and 5-7 oz for the sole pieces.

And they say 1/64th inch is roughly equal to an oz of leather right?


Got a hide lying around that I don't remember the weight of.

My leather is only 2mm thick. I wonder if this would be too thin??
