Roman Legion Exhibition at Regensburg
#16
I added a lot of coloured pictures to the Website http://www.mules-of-marius.com. They are a bit hidden. Go to "Objects" and then click on the Black and White pictures and you will discover a portfolio of pictures, many of them coloured.

For pictures of the Regensburg exhibition, you need to click on "References".

A section that really gets visitors involved is the training section. You can train with heavy wicker shield and wooden gladius. Children AND adults get carried away trying to kill the wooden stake by stabbing it fiercly. Thrilling to watch. People get animated by a small diorama showing legionaries training with stakes and fighting each other with wicker shields (you can see the diorama next to the stake in the picture).

Finally I got to see this excellent display last Sunday.

Thanks to Christian and Thomas for making the event so special.

Sorry to have missed this. Are there any planned exhibitions in the future?

Hello Ben

Part of the exhibition has a few more days to run at Aalen where it is on display until the 19th of June.

It is then on display at Osterburken until the 30th of October.

Meanwhile another part of the display is on at the Limeseum Ruffenhoffen from 25th May until 18th December 2016.

After that I think the whole exhibition will be back together again in Austria next year. Check on the mules of marius website for details.

Good to see you again if only briefly last week at the Park in the Past project.

Graham.

Thank you, Graham. I sense a visit to Germany this autumn, or Austria next year...
