Alans Dateline & Maps for Arthes
#1
Hi Arthes I found this for you:

http://sophistikatedkids.com/turkic/70% ... e%20En.htm

Marcus Aurelius defeats Iazyg tribe of Alans, takes 8000 Sarmatians into Roman service and himself settles with 5,500 of them in Northern Britain at Ribchester south of Lancaster. Alans were assigned to VI Legion Victrix commanded by Alani warlord who was renamed Lucius Artorius Castus. When these auxiliary cataphracti (heavy cavalrymen) retired from duty they were settled near the Lancashire village of Ribchester, known in Roman times as Bremetennacum Veteranorum. In 20th c population along Hadrian Wall records elevated level of group B blood, 16% vs 8%

Comerus is right that the articles information are biased.
In North Ossetia the capital the tragic Breslan is in the local dialect Breesalan aka camp of the Alans. If you suggest to the Ossetians that are turcik they will attack you with the "Kinjal"-belt knife!. Their language is Iranic. Possibly the nationalities Alan/Avars started as clans-Skythic clans may be.
Alans are possibly those who used the helmet facemask in combat.
The Byzantine emperors Alan guards are described using facemasks and some masks survive in the meusems in Constandinopole.
The stroy of Artorious links him possibly with the King Arthur.
But again ARKTURUS-illegitimate son of Constantine had a Sarmatian mother.

The Skythian Royal family depiction is based on the Melitopol findings I think
The decoration of the Lady's dress betrays Greek influence.
Kind regards
Stefanos

poor thing they did not know if male or female, because the bones were broken.
The milk beaters and stuff found would suggest female to me, but the Scythians were known to have a sort of Eunach Shaman/Priest who wore female attire....called the Enarei....so it could be either...
Have you seen this...[url:34l3bglh]http://www.hellenic-art.com/armour/ah6123.jpg[/url]

Cool!, yes the Scythian kit looks strange to me!.... Enarei, the mothern greeks called them: Malaka! ....ask Stefanus in pm what it means  .....

The Alexander helmet, yes that deepeeka is very bad, & those ears too... the very close to the image & coins of Alex lion helmet, is Terry Nix who have it very close to what he presumed it may look like in life...
