Re: Roman ghost spotted at Wakefield - vergilius - 02-14-2008 If they excist it would be handy though to actually see how they lived. Hello romans !!! Where are yououou !?!? Re: Roman ghost spotted at Wakefield - Q. Vipsanivs Praetextatvs - 02-14-2008 That's a very good source for Roman re-enactment   I think that is Filipides, he's running yet   Re: Roman ghost spotted at Wakefield - muskitear - 02-14-2008 looks Tudor period t'me. HOWEVER There have been many sightings going back to the 1940s of two Roman soldiers on the old burial ground north of Caleva (Silchester) and always in the same area. Re: tunics - muskitear - 02-14-2008 Quote:I happen to be in Sir Henry Bards Reg of foot SK and there are some 'ladies' I use the term loosely tee hee who will 'lower' themselves to peer up tunics and kilts when ever the fancy takes them. They can outdrink most of the blokes and throw a pretty good punch. Not recommended for invites to family BBQs LOLQuote:imagine, an entire cohort getting a good view up your skirt Re: Roman ghost spotted at Wakefield - vergilius - 02-15-2008 Has anyone seen Nessie lately? Re: Roman ghost spotted at Wakefield - Tarbicus - 02-15-2008 Click on PLAY and watch the actual video: http://www.wakefieldexpress.co.uk/video ... 3373004.jp Not convinced, but looking at the people involved I doubt it's a deliberate fake; more a technical glitch or an optical abberation that happens to have a human like shape. It also tracks very well with the background, and even increases in luminosity when the sun gets a bit brighter. I think what you're referring to as the ruff is the shoulder guard, though. added: A guy on a ghost forum says he's seen the footage at full resolution, and the ghost shifts against the background, so it could be a number of things, including a hoax. http://ghosts.meetup.com/240/messages/b ... ad/3629534 Re: Roman ghost spotted at Wakefield - MARCVS PETRONIVS MAIVS - 02-15-2008 Hmmn, I don't know, there are too many cliches I think. First of all it was actually filmed rather than just sighted. Secondly passers by actually walking through it? I don't buy it... And does it really resemble a roman soldier? As far as we know the person who spotted it claims this based on his own perception of what a roman soldier actually looked like when in reality if it is a ghost it could be from any other time period. The only thing there that reminds me of a legionary is perhaps the shoulder guard (from a seg maybe?) and possible feminalia? And is he wearing a hat? It's too easy these days to produce something like this. And the joggers did not see it! Re: Roman ghost spotted at Wakefield - muskitear - 02-16-2008 www.uk/britania.com |
