Caligae treatment? - Dan D'Silva - 12-06-2014 Run a search for mineral oil leather. As I say, I haven't yet found a source that looks authoritative, but there are tons of claims out there that mineral oil weakens leather, traps moisture and causes dry rot, or something else bad. I wouldn't risk it, even though the stuff is cheap. Mink oil is good, though it tends to leave a white residue if any little bit of it isn't absorbed. Caligae treatment? - A_Volpe - 12-24-2014 Huh.
