Well, then I guess you just need to kill a reindeer and you'll be set!

Paul, in this "corrida" picture (bullfighting) the visible member in the middle of the picture is bull`s horn, not a part belonging to the bullfighter...

Christy, you mean this traditional dress of the lapps?:

Yes, that was exactly what I meant, they make quite interesting things... though I'm sure in this day and age mostly for tourists.

Well, My sister is together with a Sami/Lapp. His family uses tunics like that but not a ornate and belts and knife in their everyday work with the reindeers . So they are still in use. He is from the southern Sami nation. There is acctualy a handful of different Sami nation in Scandinavia and north-western Russia with different languages but all are of the Samien Language family witch is a branch of the finno-ugrian Language group.
For using their traditional dress without being Samien is not looked at in a possitive way by the Sami people themselfs though. We, the Swedes and Norwegans, have treated them and the Suomilänen (Verilis, sp?) (Finns) quite bad in the past so the pride in what they have managed to keep is rather great.
Sorry for the OT

Martin, it was a blessing that Sweden connected us to the western europe in the middle ages! Oh what a disappointment it was for me to learn as a kid that there were no grand scale fighting/major battles between us, only quite boring gradual assimilation  ... Then again, I quess the Saami people were treated quite bad by the swedes, norwegians and the finns ...

Thats true Jyrki!
I think both Suomi and Routsi (sp?) farmer during the late medieval times didn´t reflect much on the fact that they belonged to the same country. It was just the way it has been for a long time. It´s like imagine that Norrland wouldn´t be part of Sweden.
But Now We wanna hear what people do on their leasuretime when they don´t do the Grecco/Roman nerdiness.

When I'm not doing the Roman nerdiness, I play tennis, hike and scramble (and try to avoid falling in Scottish mountains and breaking my nose), and since rugby was mentioned several times earlier, I'll add that I enjoy watching it (not playing it), though I have to say it's not particularly enjoyable being a Cardiff Blues fan, given that they are one of the most under-achieving club sides in world rugby.

Lol, I know the feeling I support Sunderland FC, mind, they are top of the championship, but we do have the record for the lowest point score ever in the premiership

Well, I do indulge in football from time to time. That'd be soccer to all you Americans. I am also fond of swimming(more recreational than sport). Other than that I stay indoors.

Being the average American that I am, nothing is better than baseball. I've been playing since I was old enough to walk and I think it will continue to be my favorite sport forever (GO BRAVES!). I've picked up tennis in the past two years, mostly because my fiancee loves it so much. Paintball is great -- not too many places here in DC to practice that often. I also like golf, however, if I wasn't left-handed I'd probably have an easier time playing seeing as how difficult it is in the states to get a decent pair of left-handed golf clubs. I have a set of hand-me-down Pings from my great-grandfather that are amazing, so I guess I'm not doing that bad.
Recently I've really had a desire to get invovled in Rugby, but Americans don't seem to embrace that sport too much, so that might have to wait a few years until I can move overseas and enjoy the sport.

I've fancied trying paintball for a while, but most places around here have an age limit of 14.

Salve, Dave.
You're the same age as my son, I wish I could get him a bit more interested in sport. He plays a bit of rugby at school, and he's pretty good considering he's tall and skinny wink:
