I have done some more research on this subject for you. If your Museum say they have evidence for leather bracae they probably mean the remains found at Valkenburg! There is apparently an article or report by Hoevenburg 1993 which might shed more light on this. If you can get hold of a copy I would be grateful if you could let me have some details.
