Jim, is that the new tunic you just made with the new wool you bought from Peroni? Nice work. But the sleeves are a little short, I think. But what do I know? I'm just a Yank.

Actually if you could see the whole thing you would realise it's pretty short all around!

Shame you're geographically challenged Graham, as I suspect you'd have added some tone to what otherwise may be a vulgar brawl.

A Scot, who lives in Kent but works in York, that is geographically challenged. As the Comitatus chaps think a good time is walking up a hill in the cold, I think I could quite easily lower the tone!!!

Well, we preferably like it to snow as well as being cold, with somebody shooting arrows at us. The Golden Fleece should make us feel right at home.

It's my birthday that weekend - I suppose I have to introduce myself by getting the squad donuts in!
The more perceptive of our fellow readers will have detected an emerging theme - consumption. First the beer, now the cake....

More the fear of a blackboard eraser flying at my head. Given I'm not sure the translation's at all correct, I dodged missiles aplenty.

I bought Peronis's entire stock of that particularly fab fabric. You should see the boots - thonging all the way up the shins. Sooper.

Be pleased to inform the Emperor that the York Chapter of RAT gathered at the Golden Fleece in York last night. Ale was quaffed Big Grin roll: and we evening managed to rebuff the siren-song of not-quite-Vestals who attempted to lure us from a mature consideration of the defence of the Empire  .

Yep, as bren has correctly informed ya, we (The Ninth) are holding our roman festival last weekend of October and will indeed be quaffing a good few ales in't local tavern called Thomas's and maybe tripping through town to a few more pubs. Thats if our Centurion hasn't noticed which judging by his eagle like eyes in spotting lead thieves in the dark (on a previous camp) may be a problem for us!!!!!:-)
