forbiden piercings
#16
The article appears to state a blanket ban on any tattoos, piercings and semi permanent make up on anyone under 18 years old, which is sensible.- However, it also suggests a total ban on tongue and intimate piercings for everyone, not just minors.

I've seen some pretty bad semi permanent facial make-up- unfortunately semi permanent can last 20 years on some people. By that time you have outgrown your youthful folly and whilst the rest of your face has headed South due to gravity, you still have tattooed eyebrows pointing skywards, giving your face a permanent look of surprise. A friend of mine is a cosmetic tattooist and beautician who specialises in scar coverage, post op improvement and skin camouflage. A large part of her work is correcting dodgy semi permanent facial make up people have lived with since they were youths. One girl she treated had a green blob above her lip which used to be a beauty spot, and smudged blue tattooed eyeliner- she looked like an extra from Braveheart. Confusedhock: She had lived with this since she was sixteen years old in the mid 1980s. I fully support the ban for under 18s, but as you state Byron, it may well end up as a total ban on any bodyart for everyone.
The thing is though, most bodyart is reversible to a large extent, even tattoos nowadays. It's just usually more expensive to take off than put on.
Whenever there are bans, things go underground resulting in no controls regarding skill or hygiene. This is potentially far worse!

I've always wanted to get a tattoo that says "MOM".... I'd have them put an "M" on each cheek of my buttocks and guess what I'd use for the "O" ? The coolest thing would be that when I did a naked cartwheel it would read "WOW MOM WOW MOM"....

I can't say I understand the tattoed make up myself (scars/ops/disfigurement aside). Isn't part of the fun swapping colours and trying new looks :?

Anyway, I'll have to avoid this thread cos it's making me want another piercing. I'm already full of holes when I have to be in authentic kit!

The law says the folowing: piercings will be forbidden in the tongue or any place in the body near muscles or blood, including genitals (no matter the age). Any person who made a regular a legal piercing or tatoo, must signe a paper saying that he is doing by his free will.
For minors: it will be forbiden piercings tatoos, scarifications.
It is really a nanny state. Our ancient regime didn't care what you did at your body, as long you didn't conspire the govermment.

Wow that is crazy and so unfair. It's our body after all. If I want my tongue pierced and the other person is trained and willing to do that then it's nobody elses bloomin' business!
